It has been announced that Florence Pugh will star in Sebastián Lelio’s new movie The Wonder. As it is known, the director had successfully signed Gloria and A Fantastic Woman films before. Alice Birch started writing the screenplay for the movie.
The Wonder is based on Emma Donoghue’s novel of the same name. Set in Ireland in 1859, the novel focuses on a young woman who continues her life in good health even though she has stopped eating. One day a nurse comes to the small village in the Irish countryside to investigate this strange case. The novel in psychological thriller takes a new approach to the concepts of good and bad. Let’s not go without mentioning that the master writer Stephen King praised the novel in a review.
The filming of The Wonder will begin in August. However, when it will be released has not been announced yet.
